Walking through Infertility

Walking through Infertility

When you're in the middle of a storm, there is nothing quite like someone who can sit beside you, take your hand, and say “I’ve been here before”. That camaraderie and feeling of truly being understood is powerful. We know that the road of infertility can feel isolating, so we reached out to a couple of friends who have walked {and are walking} that path for some advice. Here's what they have to say:

“To any couple who is facing the hardships of infertility & fighting to grow their family, I would say to cling tightly to Jesus during this time. As the baby waiting days stretch long, infertility starts whispering lies of unworthiness & inadequacy, making it so incredibly important to bury yourselves deep in God’s truth. When you allow your hearts to reside in that space, you will forever be reminded that with or without a baby, you will always be enough.” — Dani {@as_im_waiting}

"I'm with you. I stand by you. I feel you. Your pain is my pain. We all have a different story and path to parenthood, but we are all in this together. You are definitely not alone and you shouldn't fight this battle alone. Lean on those around you and give them a chance to be there for you. They might not know the right thing to say, but they love you and can help you through it. Let's keep our chin up and keep powering through. We got this!" — Anna {@socaleatery}

"Infertility is something that most of us don’t ever expect to experience.  It’s the hardest, most heartbreaking pain to have to relive month after month.  My best advice is to never give up, even if that means stopping treatment and living child-free.  Your journey may lead you somewhere you never expected it to, but oftentimes that leads to the most beautiful outcomes.  Infertility has certainly been one of the hardest things I’ve ever endured, but it also gave me my daughter who I wouldn’t trade for the world.  If it wasn’t for infertility, she wouldn’t exist and I can’t imagine the world without her.” — Elena {@lenaridley}

To all of the {infertility} warriors in our community--you are seen, you are loved, and you are celebrated. We recognize your strength, your bravery, your patience...even when you can’t see it yourself. You are determined and powerful. You never give up. As you sit in the wait and wonder how much longer it will be, remember that beautiful things are coming your way.
